This chandelier is an example of the Russian Empire style. In 1820–1830, chandeliers of similar design were produced by many St. Petersburg decorative bronze manufacturers, such as I. Dinper, A. Geren, and A. Shraiber.
The lavish crystal decoration of otherwise classical construction was enabled by the development of new technologies by the Imperial Glass Factory and private glass manufacturers at the beginning of the 19th century.
