The central panel with an inset Crucifix, flanked by the Three Maries to the left and St. John the Evangelist and the Centurion Longinus to the right, a circular composition on the upper part of each wing shows the Deposition and Entombment respectively, the lower sections are occupied by the monastic saints John and Joseph, both wearing the Great Schema and displaying scrolls inscribed with prayers, the soft modelling of the flesh is complemented by delicately rendered features, the vestments are highlighted with refined chrysography, against a shiny gold background, the scenes framed by engraved floral arrangements.
