Represented frontal, the Saviour is standing on a cushion, displaying the open Gospels and gesturing in blessing, flanked by two angels, each with veiled hands bowing towards Him in prayer, the kneeling monastic saints at His feet are Sts. Sergey Radonezhsky and Varlaam Khutynsky; the oklad is silver-gilt with a cut-out halo, the border with elaborate foliage decoration, marked on the halo and on the chequered background between the cushion and lower border.
