The present lot is a study for the painting Artist in the Forest, 1969, currently in the collection of the artist's family.
Provenance: Acquired directly from the artist’s family by the present owner.

Authenticity of the work has been confirmed by Aleksei Popkov, the artist’s son (inscription on the reverse).
