Costume Design for a Peasant from "Tainy Kanarskikh Ostrovov", signed with initials, inscribed in Cyrillic with a dedication and dated 1923, also further signed and titled on the reverse.

The operetta Tainy Kanarskikh ostrovov was staged with set and costume designs by Sergei Yutkevich at the Mastfor (Masterskaya Foreggera) Theatre, Moscow, in 1923 (inscription on the work).
Provenance: A gift from the artist to the critic and writer Dmitri Moldavsky (inscription on the work).
A gift from Dmitri Moldavsky to the previous owner (inscription on the reverse).
