The figure of St. John leans forward to the direction of where an image of Christ would appear, blessing with his right hand and raising the other hand in prayer, wearing the raiment of camel’s hair complemented by a green himation, the subdued colours of the composition heightened with white brushstrokes and shades on the face and garments.
