The image is set in the recessed area of the panel; the Mother supporting Her Son with both her hands, Christ bringing His face close to hers and touches her cheek, their garments in deep colours brightened by chrysography, the initials of the Mother of God inscribed in the surrounding red roundels, the border with gold leafy scrolls on a blue background.
