In three quarter view, St. John brings his hand to his mouth to indicate his silence, the open Book on his lap is inscribed with verses from his Gospel, the angel at his shoulder dictates the Word of God, the Eagle being his Apocalyptic personification, the faces are structured with soft colours, the silver-gilt oklad engraved with paisley patterns on the saint's garments and punched dots along the border.
