Provenance: Vorobiev collection.

The icon was commissioned privately and shows the patron’s preferred saints; to the left is the hierarch from Ceasarea pointing to the Book he is holding in his veiled hand, dressed in Episcopal garments ornamented with cruciform patterns, in the centre is St. Symeon appearing half-length in blessing at the top of the column, to the right is Virgin Martyr St. Theodosia holding a cross; the figures are of classical proportions, their facial features well-defined with the rounded areas highlighted in white.
