His recognised style solidified during this period, and he devoted
the remainder of his life to creating distinctive Christian iconography.
His works started to include features of late symbolism combined
with a pointillist style (which he strongly denied was derived
from the impressionist technique), and subsequently late symbolism
combined with echoes of the medieval pearl embroidery that
he had seen in his youth.
