A Silver-Gilt and Cloisonné Enamel Cigarette Case with a Bogatyr

MAKER'S MARK 'I.ZH' IN CYRILLIC, MOSCOW, 84 STANDARD, 1908-1917
11.5 by 8 cm
Rectangular with rounded corners, hinged cover depicting Viktor Vasnetsov inspired bogatyr on horseback gazing to the side against green and blue grounds imitating sky and grass, in polychrome shaded enamels with geometric and floral motifs, with simulated cabochon ruby thumbpiece, gilt interior, dated 1920 and inscribed with dedication in Cyrillic "Robert Genrikhovich Garris Na Pamiat' Arkhangelsk Gelmsing I Grimm".
