Bogoliubov visited the town of Oberammergau in the Bavarian Alps on 28 June 1870, accompanying the Grand Duke Vladimir Aleksandrovich, who attended the famous once-a-decade Oberammergau Passion Play, performed until now in years ending with a zero.
Authenticity of the work has been confirmed by the expert V. Petrov.
