Authenticity of the work has been confirmed by the expert V. Petrov.
The present lot is a study for the Myasoedov 1873 painting Reading of the 19 February 1861 Manifesto currently in the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery, with another version from 1881 currently in the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, Minsk.
