Portrait of a Young Officer, signed with initials.
Watercolour and tempera on ivory, laid on card, 6 by 4.5 cm (oval).

The portrait sitter is possibly Vasily Bibikov (1793-after 1840), the eldest son of the famous hero of the Patriotic War of 1812 Alexander Bibikov and the grand-nephew of Field Marshal Mikhail Kutuzov. Bibikov served as poruchik of the Life-Guards Preobrazhensky Regiment at the time of the work creation.
