The present lot is a portrait of Count Lev Aleksandrovich Sollogub (1812–1852), a diplomat, brother of the renowned writer Vladimir Sollogub (1813–1882) and acquaintance of Alexander Pushkin, Nikolai Gogol and Mikhail Lermontov.
Authenticity of the work has been confirmed by the expert V. Petrov.
