The cavetto decorated with a gilt rosette, the border embellished with eight gilt strap-work rosettes with rust-red and green glazes, one rosette enclosing the double-headed Imperial eagle clasping four scrolls and beneath, another rosette enclosing a monogram “VKKN” in Cyrillic. The base marked with underglaze blue Imperial cipher for Nicholas I.
