526. THE NATIVITY OF CHRIST
SIGNED BY DIKAREV AND CHIRIKOV IN CYRILLIC, EARLY 20TH CENTURY .

Decorative and at the same time delicate and elegant, this icon of the Nativity of Christ was executed at the beginning of the 20th century in the Old Russian tradition and has two signatures of the distinguished Russian icon painters, Dikarev and Chirikov. Whilst this double-signature seems to have no known precedent, there is no doubt, in our opinion, as to its authenticity.
