214. MAKOVSKY, EGOR (1802-1886)
Musician and Pirate, two works, each signed twice, once with initials, inscribed in Cyrillic and numbered “252” and “253” respectively.
Each ink and wash on paper, one measuring 58.5 by 44 cm, the other 58 by 43.5 cm.

Both works in the present lot are copies after Karl Briullov and date from Makovsky’s time at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
