Standing on the oval base, depicting F.Chaliapin in
the role of Boris Godunov, marked under base with
green hammer and sickle and black commemorative
factory marks, numbered "501/5" and further
inscribed on the base with the sculptor's signature.
This figure, depicting the famous Russian singer
F. Chaliapin (1873-1938) as Boris Godunov in the
M. Musorgsky’s opera of the same name, is
executed by Ya. Troupyansky in 1923 after a 1922
model and appears to be the most famous work by
the sculptor for the State Porcelain Manufactory.
