The elderly saint in blessing and holding the open Gospels is dressed in opulent Episcopal vestments decorated with cruciform patterns and ornaments that emulate embroidery made of gold thread. Gazing away from the viewer, he is flanked by Christ and His Mother both depicted in roundels, turning towards the saint and offering him the Bible and omophorion, his face is pensive, rendered in deep brown, and white highlights define his grey hair.
