The Old Testament King is portrayed bust-length, in three-quarter view, turning to the right; the hem of his tunic and his crown emulating gold encrusted with pearls and gems, his elderly features emphasised by white brushstrokes, the rounded areas, for example, the cheeks, nose and lips coloured in pale red, his head framed by a golden halo with red and white rim that stands out against the green background.
