Arranged over two registers, the Three-Handed Mother of God is in an arched compartment, flanked by two unidentified saints, to the left it is probably St. Symeon, to the right a high-ranking monastic saint, the lower frieze depicts from the left St. John the Baptist in prison, in the centre his martyrdom and to the right the presentation of his head on a platter to Salome; the composition rendered with saturated colours, mainly reds and greens, accentuated in gold.
