Three volumes (2 deluxe editions): Vol I 211 pp.; Vol III 584 pp.; Vol IV 514 pp. The three books include 87 plates, some mounted, 64 lithographs, 2 etchings, 1 fold out, and 231 illustrations by artists including Vasnetsov, Samokish, Lebedev, Repin, Riabushkin, Roubaud, Surikov, Benois, etc.
One with gilt rules to covers, gilt spine, lettered in gold, cut and gilt edges, lavishly decorated endpapers, some designed by Samokish; two books of deluxe edition with silver armorial corner protectors, the same two with armorial dust wrapper, designed by Samokish, and a protective box, one book with original silk thread bookmark, excellent condition.
The collection of books presented in this lot trace the history of the Imperial hunt from the 10th to the 19th Century.
