The present lot is a model for the monument of Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910) at the Doukhobor Discovery Centre in Castlegar, Canada. The monument was unveiled in 1987. The monument, which was unveiled in 1987 and serves as a tribute to the great Russian novelist for his support of the Doukhobors in the late 19th century.
