Authenticity of the work has been confirmed by the expert O. Glebova.
The present work was created by Alexander Yakovlev during the famous 1924-1925 expedition across Central Africa and Madagascar organised by the Citroën automobile company. He was the official artist of the Croisière Noire, as the mission was called, with Georges-Marie Haardt as one of its leaders.
