IMPERIAL PORCELAIN MANUFACTORY, 19TH CENTURY
Height 11.5 cm.
Ovoid, Madonna and Child depicted within an oval gold frame, Madonna dressed in red blouse and blue skirt, Christ seated on her lap, the reverse with a band of roses on blue ground.
The miniature on this egg is after Bartolomé Esteban Murillo painting Madonna and Child, c. 1670, currently held in Gemäldegalerie, Dresden.
