Authenticity of the work has been confirmed by the expert O. Glebova.

The present work was created by Alexander Yakovlev during the famous 1924–1925 expedition across the Central Africa and Madagascar, organised by Citröen automobile company. He was the official artist of the Croisiere Noire, as the mission was called, with Georges-Marie Haardt as one of its leaders.
